Born in Leyden Township, Cook County, Illinois.

In 1870 she was living with her Mother, Elizabeth; her brothers, Samuel and Albert and her sister Emma (Emilie) in Big Spring Township, Shelby County, Illinois. Her sister Annie (Elizabeth) Moser and brother John (Johann) lived nearby.

Married (1) to William Thomas Penn, a farmer, about 1879.

In 1880, she was living in Spring Point Township, Cumberland County, Illinois with her husband and son, William G. born May 1880. Her brother Albert was living with her family. Her brother August was living nearby.

She was widowed in 1892 and remarried in 1896 to U.B. (Rube) Simpson. They lived in Sigel, Illinois. She was divorced in 1907/08. She resumed the name of Penn.

In 1920 she was living with her daughter Cora, in Chicago. She and Cora moved to South Pasadena, California.

Her ashes are buried at the foot of her grandson Charles Warden's grave in Ingelwood Park Cemetery. He was the son of Charles Prentice Warden and Grace Helen Penn.
