Spencer Albert Yeske, 78, died Sunday April 13, 2003, at his home.

Born Jan 30, 1925, in Toronto, S.D., he was the son of Robert and Agnes Westby Yeske. He married Loretta M. Wenzel Jan. 31, 1943, in South Sioux City, Neb.

He attended rural grade schools and graduated from Bigelow High School, Bigelow. After marriage, they farmed for 18 years and then worked at Armour & Co. in Worthington. They moved to Bigelow in 1968 and Worthington in 1992. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Kiwanis and Bigelow Methodist Church, later known as Bigelow Community Church.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Robert B. (Barb) Yeske, Okoboji, Iowa, and Joel (Vonda) Yeske, Worthington; three daughters; Marcia (Doug) Anton, rural Worthington, Carolee (Dave) Witzel, Barmuda Dunes, Calif., and Renee (Ron) Ubl, New Ulm; one sister, Carol Bousma, Worthington; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. today at Bigelow Community Church, Bigelow, with the Rev. Ronald Lammers officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.

Benson Funeral Home, Worthington, is in charge of arrangements.
