Crisosto Luis "Chris" Arguello, age 68, passed away on March 10, 2009 at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque following a sudden illness. Chris was born on March 17, 1940 in Vaughn, NM to the home of Cristoso and Virginia Padilla Arguello. He was reared and attended schools in Vaughn. Chris married Angie Esquibel on July 15, 1967. He was a self employed mechanic and also ran a wrecker service in Vaughn for many years. Chris enjoyed working on and restoring old cars. He loved to play the guitar and was in several bands including the "Cats" and "Los Vatos". He was also a member of St. Mary's Parish in Vaughn. Chris is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Angie, two sisters; Sally Duran and Stella Arguello. Survivors include his three sons; Adam Christopher Arguello and wife Veronica Sanchez of Vaughn, Jessie Eric Arguello and wife Regina of Edgewood, Carlos Gabriel Arguello and wife Jennifer Telles of Rio Rancho, his grandchildren; Quinton Issaiah, Noah Nathaniel, Grayson Alexander, April Destiny, Zachary Christopher, Geneses Amber and Alexis Marie. Also surviving are his brothers; Pete Arguello and wife Christine of Tyrone, OK, Ray Arguello and wife Carrie of Roswell, sisters; Lena Sanchez and husband Leo of Roswell, Sarah Cordova and husband Manuel of Los Lunas, Carmen Escarcega and husband Ramon of Albuquerque and Lucy Trujillo of Vaughn as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary Services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Mary's Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. also from St. Mary's Church with Father Steve Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Ernest Aragon, Joe "Pappy" Chavez, Robert Luna, Mike Montoya, Michael Baca, Phillip Hohne, Larry Gonzalez, Benjie Baca and Alfonso Duran.
