BANGOR – Joyce "Honey" Dunbar Goodwin died as she lived, with strength, grace, and a quiet dignity. Always willing to give and never asking for anything in return, she lived as an example to daughters Debby, Kathy, Laurie and son-in-law Sam; grandchildren Troy and wife Coleen, clint and wife LouAnn, Cassandra, Justin, Brendon, Jason and wife Danielle, Jamie and Warren, and great grandchildren Desirae, Donte, Tianna, Destiny, Bailey, Megan, and Xander. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Laurice "Larry" Goodwin.

Joyce loved to tell stories from her childhood in Lagrange as the 11th of 13 children born to Edwin and Bessie Dunbar. She treasured time spent with her brothers and sisters whether it was traveling, Thanksgivings, family reunions, or picking raspberries at her mother's farm. She is survived by sisters Elnora "Tilly", Leora "Pluggy", and Mildred "Babe" and brothers Douglas, and Weymouth "Sonny" and wife Joyce, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Joyce would light up any room she entered with her smile and take on any burden for a loved one. She passed on the unconditional love she received from her parents to all whose lives she touched. Joyce loved her church family, spending time with military troops as a troop greeter, and the relationships she formed through her many entrepreneurial and business ventures.

Family and friends are invited to join us for food and drinks at the Coach House Restaurant in Brewer after a private family burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hermon. (Bangor Daily News 8/2/2014)
