Othell "Sonny" Efurd was the son of Othell Charles Efurd and Melba (Williams) Efurd.

He was married to Marilyn (Anderson) Efurd and the father of Kathy, Brenda, Michael and Sean Efurd.

He was survived by wife Marilyn (Anderson) Efurd and daughter Brenda (Efurd) Davis and son Shawn Patrick Efurd. Also survived by brothers Lloyd, Jerry and Terry Efurd.

He was predeceased by daughter Kathy (Efurd) Niblett and son Michael Efurd.
