John E. Thornton Sr., 82, of Toledo, OH, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2005, in his home. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a maintenance worker for Lucas County Children Services Board, retiring in the mid 1990's. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Helen Banner-Thornton; children, John E. Jr. (Darci) of Phoenix, AZ and Edward Stanley (Kenoa) Thornton of Cleveland, OH, Gloria Brennan, Pam (Kenny) Brown of Erie, PA, Nadine Wells of Dayton, OH, Paul (Anita) Nelson of Texarkana, TX and Everett (Joyce) of Powder Springs, GA, Michael, Kenneth and Aaron (Pamala) Banner; 22 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank (Cindy) and Sylvester (Hilda) Thornton, both of Phoenix, AZ and a host of other loving relatives and kind friends. Visitation, Wake Services and Funeral Services were held in the C. Brown Funeral Home with Brother, James Bradley, Speaker.
