It may be that the original first name was Permelia, and over time the spelling Pamelia was adopted. Her daughter was Julia Pamelia (b. 1854), according to Loyce Haynie Rossman's 1963 book on the Texas Haynies' family history. And there was a niece named Pamelia (b. 1842), spelled as such on her headstone.
Mrs. Haynie died at age 41, of causes unknown to me. (I am a great-great-grand-niece of her husband.)

Note added in May 2017:
Both the Haynies and Hargroves had strong roots in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. A first cousin of Pamelia Hargrove Haynie's was Robert Kennon Hargrove (1829-1905, memorial #104411319). A graduate of the University of Alabama, he entered the ministry in 1857 and in 1882 was elected Bishop.
