BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: John Delancey CLARKE enlisted in the New York State Militia at Sacketts Harbor and served through two enlistments from 1812-1815 as a private under the command of Captains Daniel TALCOTT, Grout HOISNGTON and Sterling WILCOX. Following the death of his third wife, Chloe - John Delancey Clarke, then about 57 years old (~1845), came with his six unmarried children to (the then) Wisconsin Territory.
