Son of Jeremiah Virgin and Lucy (UNK) Virgin.

Thomas' brother, Captain Rezin Virgin (1750-1825) served in the Revolutionary War, who migrated from Virginia to Bourbon County, Kentucky, and then made his final residence in Oldtown, Greenup County, Kentucky. Thomas' brother Brice was a lieutenant, while Thomas was a private under their neighbor, Captain William Leet in 1782.

Near the end of the Revolutionary War, Thomas obtained a land grant for 100 acres in 1784 on Ten Mile Creek, Washington County, and in 1785 sold his land in Virginia. He became a pioneer settler of Kentucky. Came to Barrett's Creek area prior to 1810, bought 150 acres there in 1812. He and Eleanor died in 1822 and are buried on their home place.

Thomas Virgin married (1) Unknown and had three daughters:

1. Lucy Virgin b. 1793 (unmarried), living in 1860 with family.
2. Mary Virgin, b. ca. 1794-96 (said to have been b. in Jessamine Co., KY, d. 21 May 1861 md. Levi Jones on 18 May 1826.
3. Martha "Patsy" Virgin, b. 4 Jun 1796 in Jessamine Co., KY, d. 26 Nov 1849 md. 1) Samuel Burroughs and 2) Ephraim Goble

Thomas Virgin married (2) Eleanor Davis and had the following children:

Gravesite Details

Headstone seperated from its base. Headstone was leaning against Eleanors headstone and I moved his headstone to be in-line with his footstone, resting against a small tree
