Ellen Mae Rodgers, 82, Michigan City, IN, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at 5:20 p.m. in Hospice Franciscan Communities.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Jack Andrews officiating. Committal Services and burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
She was born August 22, 1931 in Jasper County, Illinois to the late Robert and Eva (Miller) Booker.
Surviving are 2 sons, Stephen (Donna) Rodgers of Michigan City, IN and Kevin (Tarah) Rodgers of Quinlan, TX; 3 sisters, Mary Snyder of LaPorte, IN, Marjorie Shipman of Oblong, IL and Mona Neideigh of LaGrange, KY; and 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin, Jeff, Charlie, Rachael, Alex and Patrick.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Zella Fox and Ann Ford; and 3 brothers, Harold, Gordon and Samuel Booker.
Ellen retired as a clerk from the Indiana State Prison and was a member of Free Methodist Church and the Prayer Shawl Ladies Group. She also made hats for the poor people of India.
