Vivian Foust
1924-2014

Vivian Foust of Boise went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 23, 2014.

Vivian was born in Mercer, Missouri, on April 7, 1924, to the late Glen and Irene Hesseltine but was raised by her wonderful grandparents, Albert Hesseltine and Adonia Donna Gordon Hesseltine.

After raising her two brothers, Vivian married my sweet daddy Carl J. Foust on January 28, 1944, and they raised two daughters.

Amongst her many talents, Vivian was an amazing sister, wife, mother, seamstress, cook, housekeeper, gardener and Sunday school teacher. Mom's life was of serving people - retiring from the Boise School System as a cook, which she loved, putting her grandmotherly touch on an otherwise tasteless school lunch. Upon her retirement, she served her friends and neighbors with the bounty from her and daddy's garden and she served her church and her Lord. Both her and daddy received recognition from the White House by Ronald Reagan for their tireless service with "Action's Older American Volunteer Programs" by sharing their time, wisdom, skills and experience with those in need.

Today, I am at peace knowing that she is now with my daddy, my sister and all of those who loved her so much and she is free of the pain and darkness of Alzheimer's. I want to thank her Almost Home family who truly loved and cared for my mother during the time that I could not when her illness demanded around-the-clock attention. I am blessed that they were there. Thank you so much.

Mom is survived by her daughter, Sandy McDonald of Arizona, and her grandson, Troy McDonald, of Nampa, Idaho.

Mom was preceded in death by my daddy, her brothers and her first born daughter, Glenda Louise Miller, and a granddaughter we never had the opportunity to meet as Julie Marie was Glenda's child who died shortly after her birth. I know they are all together now watching over my son, Troy, and watching over me.

A small graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 11:00, at Dry Creek Cemetery under the direction of Bowman Funeral Services. In remembrance of my mother, and in lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or do a good deed today and ask it be passed forward, and find extra patience and understanding for others.
