(from the The Medina County Gazette, Friday, November 21. 1919, p. 9)

Hart L. Stuart, youngest son of Hiram and Anna Vincent Stuart, born in Manlius, Onondaga County, New York, Jan. 26, 1843, died Nov. 8, 1919 at his home in Spencer, O., aged 76 years, 9 ` months and 12 days.
Deceased came to Ohio at the age of 8 months and has made his home here ever since. When he was 19 years of age he enlisted in the Civil War, serving 3 years and 6 months.

When about 40 years old he united with the Brethren church at Homerville. Six years ago he took his letter to the M. E. church of Spencer and has been a faithful member ever since.
He last illness lasted over ten months, during which time he was a patient suffer. He was a man of sterling character and was highly respected by all who came in contact with him.
He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, two sons, seven grandchildren, and a host of friends.

"The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Hart Stuart were indeed sorry to learn of the death of Mr. Stuart. Although he had been ill for some time and not able to get about town for a year or so, yet the old familiar places will miss him.
Mr. Stuart was born in Manlius, N. Y. and was brought to this state when he was eight years old and has lived therein ever since. He was 76 years old the 26th day of last January. He was the youngest of a family of 10 children; only one brother, E. R. Stuart of Ashtabula county, who is 82 years old, is left of this large family. The family consisted of seven brothers and three sisters. His parents were Hiram V. Stuart and Anna Marie Vincent. Mr. Stuart enlisted in the Union army in August, 1862 and was but 19 years old at the time. He served through the entire war and was honorably discharged from the 23d O. V. I. at the close of the conflict. He leaves to mourn his great loss, a wife, who was untiring in her care of him during his long illness; two sons, Cort and Clayton, who will miss a kind and loving father, altho they are grown men; Mr. and Mrs. Doc Myers, brother of Mrs. Stuart, of Sullivan; Wm. Myers and wife of Congress; Thos. Myers and son Merton of Penfield were sympathetic mourners with their sisters. Mr. Stuart was buried in the Spencer cemetery, Nov. 11. Many beautiful flowers helped to pay tribute to the passing of this MAN." (The age of 8 years old I dispute in that his family was in the 1850 Medina County Census which was taken during the summer of 1850. Hart was born on January 26, 1843. Given the he "was brought to this state when he was eight years old" would make him 9 yeas old, not 8 and making his birth date false. I believe that he came to Ohio at the age of 8 MONTHS as stated in the Medina County Gazette obituary.)
