Born on July 13, 1919 in Mauston, WI, she was the daughter of the late William and Matilda (Braatz) Langer. She attended schools in Mauston.
On November 12, 1937, she was united in marriage to Lloyd L. Nichols. They moved from Mauston to Kenosha in 1951. Their union was blessed with ten children. Shortly after celebrating 58 years together, Lloyd preceded her in death on December 2, 1995.
Evelyn was employed with One Hour Martinizing in Kenosha as a presser, E & M Hotel and Quaker Industries.
She was a faithful member of Holy Nativity Lutheran Church. Evelyn enjoyed bake sales, rummage sales, gardening, yard work and decorating her home for the holidays. She especially enjoyed spending time with her her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Evelyn will be remembered by her eight children, Karen (Leron) Boggs of Kenosha, Patsy (Frank) Rombalski of Kenosha, Cauleen (Ron) Langenbach of Kenosha, Linda (Frank) Hauck of Pleasant Prairie, Nancy (Dan) Killips of Kenosha, Dale (Karen) Nichols of Kenosha, Nickey (Reggie) Nichols of Racine, and Larry (Pam) Nichols of Racine; her 29 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her daughters-in-law, Shirley and Sharon Nichols.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Glenn Nichols; seven brothers; and eight sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brookside Care Center, Hospice Alliance, Inc., and Dr. Scott Feldy for all of the special love and care they provided to Evelyn.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 2313 17th Avenue. Interment will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
Visitation:
A visitation for Evelyn will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
