DRINKING CARBOLIC ACID FATAL Alberta Boeckman little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred J Boeckman died at the Holcombe hospital Monday a few minutes after she had been brought there the result of drinking a bottle of Carbolic acid She was one year nine months and fourteen days old at the time of her death Mr. and Mrs. Boeckman who live three miles southeast of town were moving from the John Reinhart farm to their own farm where they recently built a new home A basket containing medicine was placed on a table The children at the time were playing near the barn However the children came into the house and before anyone noticed What she was doing little Alberta picked up the bottle of carbolic acid and drank it She was immediately rushed to the Holcombe hospital but the poison had already taken effect and she died a few minutes after her arrival Funeral services were held Tuesday and the little body was laid to rest in Mt Calvary cemetery R F Howley was funeral director The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved parents.
