Geraldine A. (Lajmuc) Holden, 78, of Westport died January 11, 2011 unexpectedly at Venice Regional Hospital in FL. She was the wife of Eliot "Smokey" C. Holden; they were married for 56 years.

Gerry, the daughter of the late Chester Lajmuc, Sr. the late Anna (Potkay) Lajmuc, was raised in New Bedford. She had lived in Westport since 1963 and wintered in North Port, FL for the past 14 years.

She earned her degree at Southeastern Massachusetts University in accounting. She retired from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue as an examiner in 1997.

Survivors include her husband; three sons: Paul E. Holden and his wife Patricia; Peter E. Holden and his wife Enedina and Mark T. Holden and his wife Mavourneen; a daughter: Ann L. OMeara and her husband Thomas; a brother: Chester V. Lawson; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, January 22, 2011 from the Potter Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport. Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
