A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. Peter Church in Carencro for Beverly R. Parker, 67, who passed away June 10, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Father Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter will be the Celebrant of the funeral mass and will conduct the funeral service. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Parker of Carencro; two sons, Tony Prejean of Deer Park, TX and Bradley (Tina) Prejean of Lafayette; one sister, Betty (Gerald) Geheb of Lake Charles; one brother, Joseph "J.L." (Rosa Mae "Rose") Richard of Carencro; nine grandchildren, Jahvon, Krista and Tylor Parker, Malik Arceneaux, Jada and Larren Breaux, Justin and Bradley Jay Prejean, and Haley Johnsen; and three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Wells, Mya and Anyah Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emetile and Lawrence Richard; one brother, Edgar Richard; one sister, Gertie Duhon; and one grandson, Toby Parker.
Beverly was a native of Acadia Parish and a 30 year resident of Carencro. She was employed at the Metro Bingo Hall for 21 years.
The family requests that visitation be held Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm and resume at 8:00 am - 1:30 pm Friday. A rosary will be led by her sister-in-law Rose Richard at 6:00 pm on Thursday evening at Walters Funeral Home.
