Dorothy P. Stear, 72, of Chillicothe died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at the home of her daughter outside of Metamora.

She was born on March 14, 1934, in Chicago, daughter of Andrea J. and Alverna Estelle Norin Bartolomea. She married George L. Stear on March 28, 1953, in Chillicothe.

He preceded her in death, along with one sister, Irene Davis, and one brother, Andrew "Bud" Bartolomea.

Surviving are one son, Cory (and Shari) Stear of Chillicothe; one daughter, Lisa (and John) Almasy of Metamora; and one brother, Harold Eugene (and Rosalee) Bartolomea.

She was a lifelong resident of Chillicothe and she was employed by and retired from First National Bank of Chillicothe, where she worked as a loan officer.

Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a founding member of Pearce Community Center, both in Chillicothe.

After retirement, she volunteered at Pearce, Meals-on-Wheels and various church functions.

She enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing, card playing, needlework and time with family and friends.

Inurnment will be at Yankee Street Cemetery at a later date.
