The Death of Mr. Wiley Garrison, an old and well known citizen and farmer of the county, occurred at his city residence, corner 6th and Harrison, at 4:30 o'clock this morning. Mr. Garrison had been a sufferer from stomach trouble for a number of years. He was married to Miss Nancy Vaugh in March 1868, she dying a year later. On September 5, 1875, he was married to Miss Lydia Hughes of Franklin County, who survives him. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Ed Jones of Opdyke and eight children. Mrs. Lou Stonemetz of Lynchburg, Ill., Mrs. Ben Roeder, Joe C, Ruis and Clarence, Misses Jenie and Blanche of the city and county. Mr. Garrison was born in 1839 in Saline County, near Eldorado. He was seventy-three years old June 21 last. He came to this county when seven years old and lived in Dodds township until about 4 years ago, when he moved to this city. Mr. Garrison was a civil war veteran having served four years with the "Tenth Illinois and was with Sherman in his celebrated march to the sea. He was converted to Christianity while in the army but never united with any denomination though a Baptist in belief. The funeral will take place Thursday at 1 o'clock from the residence; interment at West Salem
