After an illness of only a few hours, Mrs. John Altermatt passed suddenly away at her farm home in Leavenworth. She was taken ill Wednesday night, and despite the fact that competent medical attention was administered, her ailment was of such a nature that the desired relief was not forthcoming, and she expired Thursday night at 8 o'clock surrounded by her husband and children.
She was about 40 years old and besides a husband, seven children, the youngest 3 years old and the oldest 21, are left to mourn her loss.
The funeral was held Sunday forenoon at ten o'clock, the services being conducted at the home by Rev. Upton of this city. Interment was made in the city cemetery. The bereaved husband and children have the undivided sympathy of the community.
