"Layne Arlen Fox, 45, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at his home in Sandy, Utah on August 30, 2003 of complications of lung disease.
Layne was born on Friday, December 13, 1957 to Janyce Bateman Fox and Arlen Clifford Fox. He attended schools in Murray and Jordan districts graduating from Brighton High School. He attended college at SUSC in Cedar City. Layne was an avid participant in many sports including baseball, basketball and football. He was a loyal and rabid fan of the Utah Jazz. He was a stand-up comedian for many years on the comedy circuit. He had a rare ability to make people laugh in ANY situation. He is deeply loved and will be missed by his longtime companion Sheila Phillips; his loving sister Shari (Robert) Payne and her children Amy (Mike) Stauffer and Brandon (Hollie) Ballard; nieces and nephews Michael, Hayley, Jacob, Ashton, Nicole and Emily.
Preceded in death by his father and loving mother.
He will be deeply missed by his many, many true friends and extended family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 4, 2003, 1 p.m., in the East Midvale Stake Center, 240 East 7570 South. Friends and family may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and at the Stake Center Thursday one hour prior to the service.
Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
