Former rural Colony resident Mary Kelley Duffield, 77, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Moran Manor.
She was born Nov. 28, 1930, in Iola, the daughter of Isaac C. and Addie M. (Layman) Cuppy. She was graduated from Iola High School in 1948.
She took care of her parents on the farm west of Colony along with helping with the farming.
On Nov. 19, 1967, she was married to Francis R. Kelley. They continued to live on the farm. He died March 29, 1982. She later married James Duffield. They lived in Colony. He also preceded her in death.
She worked a number of years for Thompson Poultry, Gates Rubber Company, and Russell Stover Candies before her retirement. She was a member of the Communtiy Baptist Church.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Bessie Crowell of LaHarpe and Robert Gregory of Chanute and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews
An infant brother, Orlie Cecil, an infant sister, Rutha Belle, a brother, Albert Cuppy, and a sister, Vena Fay Gregory, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels. Burial will be in Iola Township Cemetery.
Memorials to Community Baptist Church may be left at the funeral home.
