Funeral services for Mrs. Mahala Jeffers, former Miami resident who died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bobby June Ralph, at Dallas, Tex., will be held at First Christian church of Miami at 2 p.m. Wednesday. She was 59 years old.
Mrs. Jeffers left here at 1952 after being employed at the local J.C. Penney store for nine years. Her death followed a long illness.
Besides the daughter at whose home she died, Mrs. Jeffers is survived by three sons, Edward Jeffers, Oklahoma City; Maj. Joe M. Jeffers, Tacoma, Wash., and Hugh Wayne Jeffers, Miami; six grandchildren and seven sisters, Mrs. Clara Miller, Aberdeen, Wash.; Mrs. Jane Childers, Sand Springs, Okla.; Miss Veola Ross, Miami; Mrs. Maude Prigg, Visalia, Calif.; Mrs. Jewel Erich, Avenal, Calif.; Mrs. Ollie Masters, Sand Springs, and Maj. Edna E. Ross, Army Nurse corps, stationed at Governor's Island, N.Y.
Russell Martin, pastor of First Christian, will officiate at rites.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Marks, J.E. Webb, Harvey Trudgeon, Merrill Chaney, Dennis Ralph and Jay Weaver.
Burial will be in GAR cemetery under direction of the Miami Funeral home.
