Mrs. Black was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church of Union, serving as WMU Leader, Sunday School teacher, Host Committee, and in many other church capacities over the years.
Mrs. Black was survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Vivian (Black) and J. E. Jackson of El Cerrito, California, Olive (Black) and Hume Montgomery of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Dorothy (Black) and Wayne Halley of Winter Park, Florida; two sons: Benjamin Ryan "Buck" Black, Jr. and William Edward "Bill" Black, both of Union, South Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Those whom preceded her in death, included her husband and a son, Elworth Earl Black.
Visitation was at the S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Funeral services were at the Fairforest Baptist Church with the Reverends E. Frank Inman and Gideon Long officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
