Suzanne Dixon

February 20, 1931-July 19, 2014
Suzanne Dixon passed away on July 19, 2104.

Suzanne was born in Manhattan, NYC to Anthony I. Eyring of Pima, AZ & the former Lois Rockhill of Spanish Fork, UT. An only child, Suzanne, grew up on Long Island, NY, until she left home to attend BYU in 1948.

She was married 54 years to James R. Dixon until his death in 2010. James' career as an executive of the Chevron Corporation took the family to Boston, New York, San Francisco, New Orleans & Louisville, KY.

She returned to college where she completed her BA and Master's Degree in Education at Indiana University where she graduated Suma Cum Laude. Upon graduation, she chose to teach in an inner-city school with disadvantaged children. In keeping with her dedication to education, she established an endowed scholarship at BYU for women returning to college.

Suzanne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) and was an active member of AAUW (American Association of University Women) and Daughter of the American Revolution.

Her husband's career with Chevron eventually took her around the world. A cultured woman and charming hostess, she established friendships in Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Paris, & London. She led a Christian life as outlined in the teachings of her church.

Suzanne is survived by her son, her daughter, who oversaw her affairs during the last 6 years of her prolonged illness in Orem. Her grandson and son-in-law also survive.

Interment was held at Spanish Fork, UT Cemetery.
