"Mr. George Hemler, an aged and highly respected citizen of Bonneauville, Mountpleasant township, dropped dead while engaged at husking corn in the field of Mr. Heltzel on last Monday afternoon. He suffered from heart disease when he lived in McSherrystown a few years ago, and was attended by Dr. A. C. Rice. A few days before his death he was in McSherrystown arranging to move back to his home in that town. His age was 78 years. Mr. Hemler as a plasterer by trade. He was twice married, both wives preceeding [sic] him to the grave. His first wife was a sister to the late Jacob Smith, of near town. Since the death of his second wife his daughter, Miss Mary, kept house for him. He is survived by two sons-Ambrose and Frank, in the west, and two daughters. His remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Bonneauville Thursday morning, after a High Mass of Requiem in St. Joseph's Church, Rev. Fr. Thompson officiating."
