Miles Luther Sifford, a farmer and mechanic of Buena Vista, Marion Township, Arkansas, was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He was the son of John and Elizabeth (Derr) Sifford, natives of NC. He came to Arkansas in 1870 and purchased land near the Buena Vista Post Office in 1872. His children included Anna, Luther F., Laura, Robert Lee, Loris, and Winfield Littleton Sifford.
