Lillian Joan Franklin Dinger, 77 of 42 Stewart Ave. Butler, Ohio died January 31, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield following an extended illness. Mrs. Dinger was born January 28, 1923 to Albert Edward & Phyllis Sarah Hargreaves Franklin in Oldbury, England and immigrated to the United States as a child. Lillian was a graduate of East High School in Youngstown, Ohio. Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she was famous for her pies and pastries. She loved sewing and needlework. Mrs. Dinger was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Surviving are her husband whom she married October 15, 1941, Carl Dinger, Sr. of Butler, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Wendy Dinger of Hartland Four Corners, Vermont; Thomas and Pat Dinger of Wooster, Ohio; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Roger Daugherty of Lexington, Ohio; and Deborah and James Rockwell of Bellville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Allison Dinger of Tampa, Florida; Nathan Dinger of St. Augustine, Florida; Philip Dinger of Navarre, Ohio, Sarah, Anna and Noah Dinger all of Wooster, Ohio; Brian Daugherty and his wife Amanda of Mansfield; and Brad Daugherty of Columbus, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Addison Daugherty of Mansfield; two step-grandchildren, Marshal and Darcy Blough of Cleveland, Ohio; her brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Margaret Franklin of Girard, Ohio; one sister, Janet Franklin Stamp; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard and James; and one sister, Dorothy. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Thursday February 3, 2000 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday February 4, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. David Sipes of Grace Episcopal Church and Father John Jordan of Grace Episcopal Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Worthington Township Fire and Rescue Squad.
