Funeral services for Fred E. Walter, 84, who died late Saturday, May 9, 1970, in a local nursing home, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the Trinity United Methodist Church. Walter was the last charter member of the church. Dr. Robert J. Smith will officiate, and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
Walter was born April 25, 1885, in Indianapolis, Ind., and moved with his parents six months later to Kingman, Kan. The family moved to Enid in 1926. Walter farmed for several years and most recently was employed at Vance Air Force Base and also the City of Enid in the Water Department.
He is preceded in death by his wife, who died June 4, 1958; an infant daughter and another daughter, Mrs. Timothy (Eva) Reeves of Evergreen Park, Ill., who died last Wednesday.
