Sudden Death of Montpelier Woman

Margaret Evangeline Cox Brown, 49, wife of Charles R. Brown, died suddenly of a heart attack at 5 p.m., Wednesday at her home in Montpelier. Mrs. Brown had resided in Montpelier the past seven years, having moved here from Lead, South Dakota, with her family in 1943. Mr. Brown was at that time employed by a subsidiary of the Homestake Mining company engaged here in vanadium explorations.

A daughter of the late George E. Cox and Jennie Williams Cox, she was born September 2, 1900 in Lead. She was a member of the L. D. S. Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Preceding her in death was a son, Charles F. Brown, U. S. Army, who died in England, August 4, 1944 from wounds received the preceding July 29 while in action in France.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Mrs. Olean W. Parker of Wardboro and Mrs. Ivan W. Lloyd of Alton; and three grandchildren.

Services are tentatively set for 2 p.m., Monday in the Montpelier Second ward chapel. The Matthews Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
