Cankton, Louisiana
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday (June 12, 1981) at St. John Berchman Catholic Church for Mrs. Helen Huckaby, 72 of Church Point, who died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday (June 10, 1981) in Lafayette Charity Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point.
Survivors include her husband, Alphan Huckaby of Church Point; four daughters, Mrs. Genevie Comeaux of Cankton, Mrs. Eloise Manuel of Lafayette, Miss Beverly Huckaby and Mrs. Jannelle Leger, both of Church Point; two sons, Wilton Huckaby and Alphan Huckaby, Jr., both of Lafayette; one brother, Dupre Duplechain of Ville Platte; three sisters, Mrs. Villame Cormier of Cantton, Mrs. Izena Savoie of Lawtell and Mrs. Sadie Cormier of Carencro; 19 grandchildren.
