Ada Bell May Matherne died Wednesday, April 6, 1983, at Dixon Memorial Hospital, Denham Springs. She was 78, a native of Denham Springs and resident of Livingston.

Survived by her husband, Wilford J. Matherne, Livingston; two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Albertha) James, Prairieville, and Mrs. Ella Lee Harrison, Covina, Calif.; three sons, John H., Lee Roy and Elisha Akridge, all of Prairieville; a step-daughter, Mrs. Juliet Lambert, Prairieville; a step-son, Ambrose J. Matherne, Albany; a sister, Mrs. Susie Bonnette, Ora City, Texas; two brothers, Jake May, Livingston, and Charlie May, Longview, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Allen B. Akridge.
