Mrs. Rhoda M. Akins of North Tonawanda died Saturday (May 9, 1981).
She was the wife of Ralph E. Akins Sr. and the mother of Leslie Button, Ralph Akins Jr. and the late Nancy Cartwright.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Violetta Button; grandchildren Mrs. Edward Whiteman, Harry Button, Leslie Button Jr., Donald Button, Mrs. Gerald Goodell, Harry Cartwright, Mrs. Norman Sutfin, Mrs. Larry VanDurme, Mrs. Cecelia McKinney, Mrs. Robert Smith, Frank Akins, Miss Jacqueline Akins, 56 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grand-children.
A funeral service was conducted in the Creasey Memorial Chapel at Tonawanda Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Everett Spring officiating. Interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery, North Tonawanda. (Genesee County Express, May 14, 1981, p5)
