Mr. Winston Hamilton Carver, age 80, of Owenton, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the New Horizons Medical Center.

Born March 15, 1934, in Sparta, he was the son of the late Harry Walton and Florence Abbott Carver. He was preceded in death in 2002, by his first wife, Joyce Greene Carver, whom he married on December 15, 1953. Also, preceding him were his siblings, Martin Abbott Carver, James Harry Carver and Catherine Belle Ray. Winston was retired from KMart Corporation, where he was a buyer and lived in numerous states all over the U.S. He retired in 1991 and came home to Kentucky to farm. Winston was an avid UK fan, Nascar enthusiast and Kentucky Derby fanatic. This past May he attended his 60th Kentucky Derby.

McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends, at the Main Street location, on Sunday, July 20th from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday with Bro. Greg Guy and Bro. David "Milkweed" Wotier presiding. Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery.
