Charles “Chuck” F. Anderson, 80, of Gilman, died on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Aspirus Medford Hospital. A funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 15 at the Gilman Funeral Home with Rev. Beverly Thompson officiating. Burial followed in the Hannibal Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Gilman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Monday.
Chuck was born on Nov. 25, 1938 at the family home to the late Frederick and Lillian (McCartney) Anderson. He grew up in the Hannibal area and attended Hannibal High for two years then graduated from Gilman High in 1958. Soon after he entered the Navy and returned to the area. He married Vernice Konsella on Jan. 19, 1967. The couple raised 23 foster children in addition to their seven children.
Chuck worked as a milk truck driver for Cornell Corp. and retired from Benchmark in Thorp. He enjoyed reading, listening to country music and spending time with his family.
Chuck is survived by his four sons, Mike (Vonda) Kinas of Gilman, Bob Kinas of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary (Marci) Kinas of El Paso, Texas and Jim (Deb) Kinas of Giddings, Texas; three daughters, Patti (Gary) Nichols of Deer Park, Kelly (Fred) Emstrom of Medford and Lisa Anderson of Gilman; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ken (Jan) Anderson of Belvidere, Ill., a sister, Darlene (Clarence) Nichols of Gilman; and a brother-in-law, Ron (Irene) Konsella of Gilman.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Vernice (2006); and his brother, Ron.
