Douglas C. Decker (1941 - 2014)

FRANKLINVILLE - Douglas C. Decker, of Route 98 S., died Thursday (July 17, 2014) at the Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born Dec. 9, 1941, in Franklinville, he was the son of Lewis and Ernestine Kenyon Decker. On Nov. 28, 1964, in Franklinville, he married Bernice L. Kelley, who died Feb. 7, 2001.

Mr. Decker was a graduate of Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville, and was employed for many years at the Fancher Furniture Factory in Salamanca. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, woodworking and NASCAR. He was a member of the Ischua Valley Country Club, a Buffalo Bills fan and a member of Local 2367 carpenters union.

Surviving is a son, Douglas J. (Deborah) Oakes Sr. of Franklinville; four daughters, Viola J. (Laverne) Krotz of Little Valley, Deborah J. Storey of Franklinville, Cheryl (Stanley) Kobielski of Warren, Pa., and Vicky L. (Harold) Watt of Great Valley; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Kenworthy of Florida; three brothers, Thomas Decker of Salamanca, Jay Decker and Eric "Rick" Decker, both of Franklinville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Bradley Oakes in 1979.

Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville.
