ILL HEALTH PROMPTED SUICIDE
Corpse of Former Resident of the County Found Hanging in His Barn.
Mr. John Wissinger, of Hannibal, Mo., committed suicide by hanging, one day recently. Word reached relatives here last week concerning his sad ending. He was married and leaves a family. For two years he has been in ill health, and his physical condition prompted him to commit the rash deed. Without the least intimation of his purpose, Mr. Wissinger went to his barn, where he hanged himself to a rafter. He was found shortly afterwards by his family, but life was already extinct. The deceased was born and raised in Washington township, this county, where he has one brother, Ellis Wissinger, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Fisher, living. Mr. Lewis Wissinger, of White township, is also a brother of the deceased. He located in the west 25 years ago and has not visited his naive county since.
