Andrew Schinnerer died peacefully at home on August 1, 2012. He was born on February 15, 1927 in Albany to Harry and Grace, the fourth of their eight children. First and foremost, Andrew was a devoted husband to his 'ever-loving Patsy,' and a proud father of his four sons. Andy's extraordinarily kind and gregarious nature made him a favorite among his and Pat's lifelong circle of friends. He served in World War II as a Navy Seabee and remained an active member of the VFW. His favorite pastimes were gardening and music, and he happily passed on his love of both to his sons. In his later years, he served as a volunteer, repairing broken toys for a children's charity. Andrew is predeceased by his oldest son Todd. He is survived by his wife; his three sons; his sister; and his brother; Also by his eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial Mass for Andrew will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Christ the King Church in Guilderland. 'To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die' Thomas Campbell." ["The Times Union" (Albany, NY), August 10, 2012, Page: D9]
