Jane Moore Cameron Koy, 102, died January 30, 2014. Married to Ernie for 70 years, she was a merchant by trade, and mother of Mary Jane, Ernie, Margaret, and Ted Koy.

Jane was born December 15, 1911 to Margaret and James M. Cameron in Washington, PA. One of the highlights of her early life was attending the Armistice Day parade in downtown Pittsburgh, PA, on November 11, 1918. She came to Texas with her parents and brother, Alexander, in 1919. Her father was in the oil and gas business, necessitating moves to 7 different towns in 8 years. She attended Wichita Falls High School, Wichita Falls Junior College, and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin in 1932.

Jane was a devoted member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Bellville, where she married Ernie Koy on March 10, 1936. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary there with friends and family in 2006. She was always behind the scenes supporting and watching her husband play professional baseball, her two sons in their football careers, and her daughter in her sports writing profession.

Her parents, J. M. and Margaret Cameron, opened Cameron's 5 & 10 in Bellville, TX in 1932, and Jane worked in the store much of the 48 years it was in operation (1946-1980). Ernie, Margaret, and Ted, grew up working there as janitors, stockers, and clerks.

For many years, Jane volunteered in the Bellville Hospital Auxiliary. In 1983, she was honored as the first female recipient of the Bellville Lions Club Citizen of the Year. A proud Life Member of the Texas Exes Association, she and Ernie enjoyed many trips with the Flying Longhorns after retirement. Jane's children and grandchildren hold fond memories of her glass cookie jar, always full of chocolate chips, and her outstanding frosted angel food birthday cakes. Her beautiful handwork, including cutwork table linens, needlepoint, cross-stitch, and quilts, will be cherished as they are passed forward through the generations.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband, and two daughters.

Jane Koy is survived by her two sons, Ernie M. Koy and his wife, Barbara, of Kenney, TX, Dr. Ted Koy and wife, Valerie, of Georgetown, TX, and Margaret's husband, Dr. Clay Kistler, of Bellville, TX.
Jane's seven grandchildren are Robert Cameron Koy (wife, Barbie, their children, Wyatt and Cameron) of Houston; LCDR Andrew Bruen Koy, USN, of San Diego, CA (his children, Buck and Catie); Jane Koy Lennox (husband, Michael, and their children, Koy and Claire) of Midland, TX; Jess York Koy (wife, Katie) of Bellville, TX; Daniel Koy Kistler (wife, Erin) of Boston, MA; Suzanne Koy Skaer (husband, Jason, and their children, James and Jude) of The Woodlands, TX; Caroline Koy Gorman (husband, Scott and their children, Abigail, Emily, Russell, and Theodore) of San Antonio, TX.
