Harry E. Goad, 87, of Stuart, died Thursday, September 1, 2005, at R.J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Floyd County on November 4, 1917 to the late Charlie "Bud" and Josie Moles Goad. He served in the U.S. Army for two years during World War II and worked for A.C. Wilson Quarry as a dynamite engineer for over 30 years. He attended Harvest Worship Center. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Susan Puckett Goad of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Jimmy Holt of Patrick Springs; one son, Bobby L. Goad of Highland, Ind.; two sisters, Belva Dalton of Meadows of Dan and Mary Wade of Floyd; five grandchildren, Darrell Goad, Sherrie Burns, Jason Goad, Brad Holt and Michelle Collins; and five great-grandchildren, Derrick Goad, Ryan Goad, Ashley Goad, Tyler Burns and Jennifer Goad. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart by Pastor David Coleman. Burial, with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans' Memorial Honor Guard, was in Patrick Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Brad Holt, Darrell Goad, James Holt, Randall Collins, Arlie Dalton, Scott Reece, Mark Holt and Robert Keckler. Memorial contributions may be made to Harvest Worship Center, P.O.
