Former Ranch Woman Near Knick-
erbocker Succumbs at Hobbs

Mrs. J. V. Linam, 85, who once lived on a ranch near Knickerbocker, died recently at the General Hospital in Hobbs, N. M., according to information received here. A heart affliction was the cause. Her husband and four children survive. Mrs. Linam was born near Menard. She was married to Mr. Linam May 15, 1890, at the time he was ranching near Eden in Concho County. Subsequently they homesteaded a place in Schleicher, then resided on the McNabb ranch in this county.

Mr. Linam was known in this section as an expert rodeo performer and roper.

Mrs. J. V. Linam
Funeral services were held recently for Mrs. J. V. Linam, 65, who died in the general hospital at Hobbs, N. M., of a heart ailment. She was born in Menard County, April 30, 1869, and married to Mr. Linam on May 15, 1890.

The family formerly resided on a ranch near Knickerbocker and also resided at one time in Concho County. In 1900 they homesteaded in Schleicher County and then purchased the McNabb ranch near Knickerbocker where they lived until 1907, They moved to a ranch eight miles west of Hobbs in Lea County and the family still lives there.

Mr. Linam was active in the organization of several of several churches around Monument and Hobbs.

Survivors include the husband and four children. The children are Virgil, Walter and Lois Linam and Mrs. T. E. Vandergrief. Four brothers also survive, they are B. L., Creed, Sol and D. S. Thorp.
