The death of Ollie Elizabeth Thorne, wife of E Ernest Thorne of Port Royal, occurred suddenly at the Annapolis General Hospital on Thursday, May 5. The late Mrs Thorne had sustained a fractured hip a month ago, but appeared to be convalescing satisfactorily, until stricken by a heart attack on Thursday morning. The deceased, the younger daughter of the late Thomas Bine and Mae (VanBlarcom) Condon, was born at Port Royal in 1891, and had resided here practically all her life. She was a member of the United Baptist Church, and was an ardent supporter of church and all worthwhile charities, such as Red Cross and the local Hospital. In 1921, the deceased married George Amberman of Granville Ferry and lived there until his death nearly 40 years ago. In 1937, she married E Ernest Thorne of Port Royal, who is her only immediate survivor. Her only sister, Vilah, Mrs Curtis Young, predeceased her but 5 months ago. Funeral was Saturday afternoon from the Granville Beach Baptist Church, Reverend Burton Long officiating. Burial was in the Stoney Beach Cemetery.
