Daniel Ramirez Calistro was born in Cottonwood, AZ on January 21, 1928 he left us to join God on May 21, 2010.

He lived here in Flagstaff for 67 years; he attended Flagstaff High School, leaving his junior year to join the Army-Air Force, where he made it to the rank of Sergeant before leaving with an honorable discharge. He would marry and settle down with his loving wife Cleo Abeyta for the next 58 years of his life.

He worked at the Southwest Sawmill as a wood dryer and was a member of their volunteer fire department. He also worked at NAU and retired from there. He played guitar in a mariachi band and was a devoted member of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter Theresa Contreras, his several grandchildren and his sister Lydia Tercero and his brother Reuben Baca. He is preceded in death by his parents Gabriel and Margarita Calistro and his four sisters.

Holy Rosary will be held Friday, May 28, 2010 at 9:00 followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 at St. Pius X Chapel, 2257 E. Cedar Ave, Flagstaff, AZ

Daniel Ramirez Calistro, of Flagstaff, died May 21, 2010. He was born in Cottonwood on Jan. 21, 1928.

He lived in Flagstaff for 67 years. He attended Flagstaff High School, leaving his junior year to join the U.S. Army-Air Force, where he made it to the rank of sergeant before leaving with an honorable discharge.
