Margery E. (Sawyer) Jacobs, 92, of Ottawa, formerly of Streator, passed away Monday morning, July 14, 2014 at Ottawa Pavilion.
Private family graveside services are being arranged by Elias Funeral Home of Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Streator.
Margery was born July 22, 1921, in Streator to Oren and Lydia (Mottershaw) Sawyer.
She married John Jacobs of Streator in March 1942 in Peoria. He died May 20, 1976.
Margery was a graduate of Streator High School and retired from Owens-Illinois in Streator after 25 years. She was a member of St Columba Parish in Ottawa.
She is survived by her three daughters; Gloria (William) Franklin, Maryanne (Ron) Powers, and Helena (David) Ross, all of Ottawa; five grandchildren Bill (Lisa) Franklin, Lauren (Mike) Olander, Sarah (Andrew) Alsene, David (Brittany) Ross, all of Ottawa; Suzi (Mark) Winters of Chicago; three great-grandchildren Cassidy Franklin, Andrew Franklin, and George Powers Olander, all of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; brother, Oren Sawyer; sisters, Clara Marcin, Helen Vincent, Ruth Kozak, Dorothy Hedrick, and Bernice Adams; and great-granddaughter Mia Alsene.
