Funeral For George Reiss Wednesday
Local Business Man Died Sunday After Long Illness

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Presbyterian church for George Reiss, who died at his home early Sunday morning at the age of 69 years. The services were conducted by Rev. Hal F. Schenck, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Reiss had been in failing health for the past year.

George Reiss, son of Jacob and Anna Reiss, was born in Elgin, Illinois September 26, 1875. At the age of four years, he came with his parents to settle on a farm in Platte county. A short time later the family moved to Columbus and later to Leigh, where he attended the public school.

On November 20, 1913, he was married to Miss Minnie Koehn. He worked as a barber for many years at Leigh and at Tilden, and in later life did merchandising. He was a member of the Methodist church at Tilden.

Besides his wife, Minnie, he has three sisters, Mrs. Anna Groteluschen of Columbus, Mrs. Louise Karthaus of Humphrey and Mrs. Josephine Edward of Los Angeles, California and other relatives.
