Adam J. Lamport, 33, of New Buffalo, MI passed away at his home in New Buffalo, MI on Friday, July 11, 2014. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo.



Adam was born on January 5, 1981 in Berrien Springs, MI to Arthur and Judith (Deahl) Lamport. Following high school in New Buffalo, Adam attended Western Michigan University, where he met his wife, Leanne, and graduated with a degree in political science. He later earned his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Adam loved learning and was an informed and intelligent participant of discussion on almost any topic. Adam spent much free time working in the family orchard and garden, loved boating and golfing, and never shied away from a building project. He was a charming, witty, vibrant person who loved his family above all else. Adam was an adoring father, a devoted husband, and a loyal son and brother who will be deeply, deeply missed.



Adam is survived by his wife Leanne; his two daughters-Elizabeth and Addison; his parents Art and Judy Lamport of New Buffalo; Leanne's parents James and Beverly Felkey of Jenison, MI; his sister-Lori (Gregory) White of South Bend, IN; brother-in-laws Steve (Melissa) Felkey and Eric (Tara) Felkey; sister-in-law Jani (Dean) Haverdink; and eleven nieces and nephews.



A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2:00 PM at the Water's Edge United Methodist Church in New Buffalo with Rev. Brad Bartelmay officiating. Visitation is on Tuesday, July 15 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Sommerfeld Chapel in New Buffalo. Memorial contributions may be made to the ‘Libby and Addy Education Fund' at Fifth Third Bank in New Buffalo.
