Diane was born on September 24, 1962 in Rock Island, a daughter of Dale Barnett Sr. and Janet Crecelious Barnett. She found true love and an unwavering commitment to her happiness when she met her husband Kevin Bohannon and they made their commitment official on June 7, 1986 in Rock Island. Diane and Kevin spent the following three years expanding their love to bring two daughters and a son into this world. Diane often referred to her children as her greatest achievement. Three years ago, Diane's eldest child continued her example of unconditional love by giving birth to Diane's sole granddaughter, Lauren. Diane cherished that little girl from the moment she set eyes on her until her last waking moments, providing her with shelter and affection beyond measure. Diane worked as an accounting clerk at the RIA Federal Credit Union. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, making crafts and watching movies, and possessed an undeniable passion for all animals but she felt her time was best spent with her family, especially outdoors enjoying nature.
Diane chose a humble life of love and family and her children watched and learned by the example she set. They know where to turn for peace because they watched their mother find peace in family.
Diane's journey on Earth may have ended but the power of her love will forever live on. Survivors include her husband, Kevin; children Erin Oetgen, Silvis, Samantha Bohannon, Carbon Cliff, Jacob Bohannon, Moline; a granddaughter, Lauren Oetgen, Silvis; siblings, Dale Barnett Jr., Rock Island, Donna (Mike) Barenthin, Moline, Barbara Allen, Coyne Center, Helen (Chris) Waffle, Moline and Scott (Lisa) Barnett, Moline.
