James Wall, 78, veteran of the Spanish-American War, died Monday at 10:20 am at the family home in Ridgeville.

Mr. Wall had been seriously ill for several years. Formerly residing on a farm southwest of Portland, he had lived in Ridgeville since 1936.

The body was removed to the Baird Funeral Home in Portland where friends may call. Funeral services will be held from the Baird Chapel Wednesday at 2 pm in charge of Rev. Ronald Gillett, with interment in Bluff Point Cemetery. The American Legion will render military rites at the graveside.

Mr. Wall was born in Randolph County February 14, 1875, the son of John and Elizabeth (Moyer) Wall.

He was married to Elizabeth Stout, who died in 1924.

On November 28, 1928, he was married to Bonnie McGee, who survives with three sons: Albert and Jack Wall of Winchester and Harold Wall of Dunkirk; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a brother, Hoke Wall of Saratoga.

Two brothers and a sister are deceased.
