Henry F. Schepman, lawyer and civic leader of Falls City, Nebraska, was born at Lockwood, Dade County, Missouri, September 26, 1898. His father William Schepman, who was a farmer, was born of German parents at St. Louis, Missouri, October 30, 1872. His mother was born at Westphalin, Germany, September 10, 1873.

In 1918 Mr. Schepman was graduated from Tecumseh High School, and from 1918 to 1924 was a student at the University of Nebraska where he received his A. B. degree, 1923, and L. L. B., 1924. He was a member of the Dramatic Club and of the Pershing Rifles while at the University. Later he was a student at Chicago University.

On June 7, 1924, he was admitted to the bar at Lincoln, and has been engaged in the practice of law since that time. From 1925 to 1927 he served as state representative from Johnson County, having been elected in 1924 on the Democratic ticket. During the 69th congress he was appointed secretary to congressman John H. Morehead. In 1928 he was elected to the Nebraska State senate, and in 1930 was re-elected without opposition.

He married Sherlie Whitaker at Falls City, December 6, 1928. Mrs. Schepman, who was born at Falls City, May 30, 1901, is a descendant of Robert E. Lee.

Mr. Schepman was a soldier in the late war, and is a member of the American Legion, serving as adjutant of the local post in 1927. He is secretary of the Chember (sic) of Commerce, a member of the Rotary Club, the Nebraskana Society, the Nebraska Bar Association, and the Christ Lutheran Church of Fails City. He has lived in Nebraska for 23 years. Residence: Falls City.
