Smiley-Funeral services for Jewel Worthington, who died on Wednesday in a local nursing home, were held on Friday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. at Finch Chapel. The Rev. Michael Cowey officiated, with interment in the Bundick Cemetery.
Mrs. Worthington was born on June 1, 1907 in Gonzales, to Joe and Lou Harrison Allison. She was married to J. R. Worthington in Smiley on Jan. 29, 192 and he preceded her in death on Feb, 8, 1978.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in dear by her parents, and three sons, Frank, Willard and Wilburn Worthington.
