Thomas G. Arney, 72, of Rome City, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at his residence.

Born Jan. 11, 1934, in Fort Wayne, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was a forklift operator for the K-Mart Distribution Plant, Fort Wayne for 36 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 381, Rome City.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret A. "Peg" Arney of Rome City; mother, Pauline Arney of Huntertown; daughter, Tami (James "Buzz") Junk of Huntertown; two brothers, James (Judy) Arney of Howe and Jack (Linda) Arney of Huntertown; two granddaughters, Jennifer (J.R.) Melcher and Crystal Junk, both of Huntertown; and two great-grandsons, Dylan Melcher and Ethan Melcher.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Young Family Funeral Home, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, with visitation one hour prior to service.

Visitation also from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Parkview Noble Hospice or St. Gaspar Church.
